Catholic Citizens of Illinois Calls on Cardinal George to Remove Rev. Pfleger Immediately
6/15/2008 4:30:00 PM -CCI

Catholic Citizens of Illinois (www.catholiccitizens.org), a lay organization of Roman Catholics who support the teachings of the Catholic Church, is calling on Francis Cardinal George to remove Rev. Michael Pfleger as pastor of St. Sabina's immediately. Pfleger's tirades are racist and there's nothing Catholic about them. A few years ago, Pfleger threatened to start a new church rather than be re-assigned. He has started a new church, but on Archdiocese of Chicago property. Pfleger's scandalous conduct is shameful and an embarrassment to the Catholic Church. (NOTE: We have updated this release on 5/31 to correct a few typo's in yesterday's release. Sorry for the inconvenience.)

For St. Sabina's website, see http://a.saintsabina.org. Evidently, Pfleger's pledge to the Cardinal to stay out of politics does NOT include removing the highly partisan and politican articles on the St. Sabina website.
