Two outstanding Catholic Conferences are being held this weekend in Chicago and in Rockford IL.

Chicago's CATHOLIC FESTIVAL OF FAITH

The Archdiocese of Chicago has announced "This event will bring together into one place at one time Catholics from across Chicagoland for a four-day celebration of our Catholic faith. CATHOLIC FESTIVAL OF FAITH will be an opportunity for people from all Catholic parishes, organizations, institutions, ministries, racial, ethnic and age groups to gather at one place and time to worship, learn, and celebrate our diversity and unity as Catholics."

"Youth Day -- Thursday, October 30th -- will be geared to high school aged youth. This day is designed specifically for and limited to Chicagoland teens in Catholic high schools and Catholic teens attending public high schools. The Youth Day general sessions and special interest sessions will begin with morning music and opening prayer. On this day, Cardinal George will preside at a festive Liturgy in the afternoon. Live entertainment will be provided during lunchtime."

"On Friday, October 31st, through Sunday, November 2nd, the CATHOLIC FESTIVAL OF FAITH will be open to all Catholics and those who are interested in the Catholic faith. These days will include special liturgies and prayer experiences, inspiring keynotes, multiple presentations and workshops focused on themes that are central to our Catholic faith, mini-convocations, special events, and resource-rich exhibits. The event will feature speakers who will present sessions and workshops in English, Spanish and Polish. Cardinal George will preside at the closing Liturgy on Sunday."

"Family-friendly programming will include special sessions for children on Saturday. Special events are planned for Friday and Saturday nights for the young at heart of all ages. Sessions and events will be geared to both inspiration and education in the midst of festivities."

Rockford's First Annual North/Central Family COnference

The Catholic Family Conferences have grown more each year and this year is no different. Come join thousands of fellow faithful Catholics at the Catholic Resource Center's 1st Annual North Central Catholic Family Conference. For one low price, you and your family will experience reverent liturgy, an outstanding selection of vendors and an impressive line-up of today's most inspiring Catholic speakers! This year's conference promises to be one of the most inspirational and enlightening events you and your family will ever attend!

We provide a safe and secure environment for the children that allows their parents to enjoy the conference with peace of mind. Solidly Catholic, this program offers age-appropriate lessons, stories, crafts, and activities (including musical catechesis and visits and lessons from some of the speakers). The children are taken to pray and visit the Most Blessed Sacrament and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is encouraged and offered to those children who have already made their First Confession. Participant ages range from 1 year old to 12 years old. This program has limited space available, so it is highly recommended that participants are registered early.

This event's speakers, including Scott Hahn and Tim Staples, will continue in the tradition of uncompromising presentations filled with the joy and truth that you've come to expect from the Catholic Family Conferences. You'll experience inspirational talks by a wide array of presenters from clergy and theologians to popular lay speakers, all of whom share a common commitment to Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Magisterium of His Holy Catholic Church.
