The evidence is mounting that an increasing number of individuals and organizations do not believe the National Cancer Institute's propaganda that abortion is unrelated to breast cancer risk.A weekly news magazine for radiologists, administrators, educators and radiologic science professionals featured a cover story entitled, "Breast Cancer: The Deadly Effect of Abortion?," in its February 9, 2004 issue. The magazine, RT Image, awarded the author, Glenda Martinez, first place for her article in the student category of the 2003 RT Image Writing Competition. Martinez offered an outstanding biological explanation for the abortion-breast cancer link. She borrowed a diagram, "Types of Breast Lobules," and a table, "Risk Factors of Breast Cancer," from the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute's booklet, "Breast Cancer: Risks and Prevention." Although the diagram and table are not provided on the RT Image web site's version of the article, they can be viewed by our readers at .The author was highly critical of the abortion business and its supporters. She said, "Because induced abortion is a choice that women make, it is a preventable risk factor for this disease. Furthermore, women who have had abortions have the constitutional right to know that they need to take steps for early detection of possible tumors, but the abortion industry and its supporters have a long history of censoring the research while, at the same time, asserting that women are the ultimate decision makers." The magazine is conducting a Reader Poll on its home page. Visitors to the Web site are being asked, "Should imaging and radiation therapy professionals inform their patients there may be a link between abortion and breast cancer?" One physician told us that she always informs her patients with abortion histories about the breast cancer risk, but only if there is no evidence of the disease. She does this in order to encourage abortion-positive patients to undertake risk reduction measures and to seek early detection of breast cancer. You can visit and cast your vote.Keeping women in the dark about the abortion-breast cancer link will only serve to increase the mortality rate. ### Please send your tax-deductible donation to: the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer, P.O.
