Talks between Anglican and Catholic theologians have collapsed in the wake of the appointment of an openly gay Episcopal bishop, the Daily Telegraph of London reports. According to the Telegraph, the Vatican plans to break off participation in the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC) after a final upcoming meeting. The Telegraph reported that Vatican officials were reluctant even to go forward with that meeting, but changed their plans after the leading Anglican participant, Bishop Frank Griswold, stepped down.
