Holy Name Cathedral was filled Wednesday with the famous and the unknown for the funeral of Haymarket Center founder Monsignor Ignatius McDermott, known as “Father Mac” to the people he helped battle substance abuse and other problems. Mayor Richard M. Daley and Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich were among the many in attendance for the funeral mass, celebrated at 735 N. State St. by Cardinal Francis George, Father George Clements, Father John Sullivan and Father Dan Mallett.
