Church plaza is named in honor of fallen soldier: St.Michael’s in Wheaton remembers its student

A 24-year-old soldier killed in Afghanistan earlier this year was remembered Friday when St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton named a plaza in his honor, dedicating it to all St. Michael Parish School students who serve in the military. “We thought it was an appropriate way to honor a student who gave his life for his country,” said Rev. Don McLaughlin, as he announced the plaza at Wheaton Street and Willow Avenue would be known as the Staff Sgt. Robert J. “Robby” Miller Memorial Plaza. “May it inspire all of us throughout our lives to be a hero as he was.”
