Catholic school closing: Driscoll High in Addison a victim of declining enrollment, financial woes

Driscoll Catholic High School in Addison, beset by declining enrollment and financial difficulty, will close its doors for good at the end of the school year. “It’s a very, very sad day for Driscoll, and it’s a very tough time for Catholic schools,” said Douglas Delaney, spokesman for the Joliet diocese. The Christian Brothers of the Midwest, which operates Driscoll in conjunction with the diocese, announced the closing Thursday after several months of meetings on the 43-year-old school’s future. “It’s a combination of both enrollment and finances,” Delaney said.
