Chicago bishop to head San Antonio, Texas, archdiocese

A Chicago bishop has been appointed to lead the archdiocese of San Antonio, Texas.

The Vatican on Thursday said Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Chicago Auxiliary Bishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, 53, to succeed Archbishop Jose H. Gomez. Garcia-Siller has been Cardinal George’s liaison for Hispanic ministry
