December 22, 2013 JUDGE DENIES NOTRE DAME RELIEF
“Notre Dame has in many ways created its own emergency, and I am left to wonder why.”
Philip P. Simon
United States District Court
NOTRE DAME, IN -A federal district court has just denied Notre Dame’s request for relief from the Obama administration’s mandate requiring abortifacient/contraceptive benefits for Notre Dame’s employees beginning January 1. Notre Dame has appealed and asked for immediate relief from the Court of Appeals.
In its opinion filed on Friday, the court made clear that Notre Dame’s long delay in bringing suit, together with some actions incident to its court action, severely prejudiced its case.
