The first Lake County Catholic high school to open in 40 years will provide low-income students with a religious education and hands-on experience in the corporate world, officials said Thursday. Scheduled to open next year in Waukegan, St. Martin de Porres High School is modeled after Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago and will combine college preparatory classes with corporate internships.
