The bishops are worried that Catholic readers are getting the wrong interpretation of the Second Coming from the best-selling series, which is based on an evangelical interpretation. They also say the books amount to “attractively packaged proselytization” and a “vehicle for anti-Catholic sentiments by the way Catholics are characterized and treated in the plot line.”
