A yearlong mandatory course to raise awareness about sexual abuse of children for those in the Catholic Diocese of Joliet who minister to youth kicked off Tuesday in a Plainfield church. The program, titled “Protecting God’s Children,” is required for priests, deacons, school principals, teachers and others serving the 122 parishes in the diocese.
