Fitzgerald (R-IL) late Monday proposed legislation that would close a loophole in current law designed to prevent federal, state, and local governments from discriminating against health care organizations and workers refusing to perform or assist in abortions. According to Fitzgerald, the current law unintentionally leaves pro-life hospitals and workers — other than doctors — unprotected.”
