Eucharist, or Holy Communion, is the Christian rite in which bread and wine are consecrated and received as the body and blood of Jesus. All parishes must make the changes by Dec. 1. The Vatican issued the new liturgical instructions in 2000. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops last year finished translating the instructions from Latin to English.”
