Dom Bettinelli, a Catholic journalist reported on Septemeber 24, 2003 at BETTNET. com that “Talking about Touching” (TAT) has been mandated by the Archdiocese of Boston for use in parochial schools and all parish religious education. Earlier this summer, parents of Catholic school children had been given ‘permission’ to have their children opt-out of the program in the schools.
Concerned Parents (www.catholicschoolparents.org) of Boston have expressed numerous concerns over this lewd and profane program. They were originally told that Archbishop O’Malley and his subordinates were looking into their concerns, stating they were unaware the program had not had a theological review. Diocesan officials admitted this fact made the TAT program ‘problematic.’
In the last few days, Archbishop O’Malley sent letters to all the Archdiocese of Boston parishes indicating that all Catholic school children are required to begin implementing the program immediately.
