Although the St. Ignatius alumni organization flatly denies it is sponsoring a fundraiser for former student and Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate, Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes, it is being co-chaired and hosted exclusively by alumni and faculty of the school.
St. Ignatius principal Carole Manning is listed as a co-chair and $2,500 giver to the Dan Hynes for U.S. Senate fundraiser being held tonight. Illinois Leader has obtained the invitation for the “reception hosted by alumni of St Ignatius honoring Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes, Class of 1986,” along with its list of Co-Chairs, who have agreed to contribute $2,500 to the campaign, and Co-Hosts, who have agreed to contribute $1,000.

Democrat Dan Hynes is a so-called pro-abortion Catholic, and is running for US Senate. He was endorsed by the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, when he ran for Illinois State Comptroller in 2002.
