BioA 1978 graduate of Northwestern University, Madonna Muscarello earned her law degree cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1981. After practicing as an associate attorney in the estate planning department of Sidley & Austin in Chicago for two years and once she began having children, she joined the law firm of O’Brien & Associates in Oakbrook Terrace on a part-time basis. More recently, Madonna taught Old Testament and Catholic Church history to sixth graders for ten years at St. John of the Cross Parish, and has led adult formation classes at that parish and at Holy Trinity Parish. She served as a Board member of Kingswood Academy in Darien and on the Youth Catechesis Board of St. John of the Cross Parish. In the spring of 2018, Madonna was awarded her Masters’ degree in Theology cum laude from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She is the co-author, along with Judie Brown of the American Life League, of a 1987 book exposing the dangers and pitfalls of certain kinds of advance directives and living wills. Madonna and her husband, Dr. Vincent Muscarello, have been married for over 36 years and are the parents of four children, including a son who is currently serving as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. They are the proud grandparents of a growing number of grandchildren. Madonna joined the Catholic Citizens of Illinois Board in 2018, and was elected Vice-President of CCI in January 2021.
