Citizens for Community Values reported today that Illinois Senate Bill 101 (SB 101) was withdrawn by the sponsor due to lack of votes! Widely known as the “gay rights” bill, the action had the full support of Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a liberal Democrat who narrowly defeated pro-life Republican (and Catholic) James Ryan, the former Illinois Atty General. Ryan was opposed to SB 101 during his campaign, while Blagojevich’s campaign staff claimed during his campaign that “gay rights” was “not a priority.”
