REMEMBERING BISHOP D’ARCY

On Sunday, February 3, on the 56th anniversary of his first Mass as a priest, God called home Notre Dame’s long-time bishop, the Most Rev. John M. D’Arcy. The bishop was 80 years old and had recently been diagnosed with cancer.

In announcing Bishop D’Arcy’s death, his successor, the Most Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades, said:

Bishop D’Arcy faced death as he lived his life: with deep faith and trust in God.

We here celebrate that life.
