Bp. Athanasius Schneider: “Some Catholic journalists and internet bloggers behaved as good soldiers of Christ”

Prelates like Bp. Athanasius Schneider know Catholic journalists are exposing corruption in the Church so that it can be remedied.

After the troubling 2014 Extraordinary Synod, the auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of St. Mary in Astana, Kazakhstan, credited Catholic journalists for their positive impact on the synod’s rather murky proceedings:

That in the very bosom of the Church there are people who undermine the teaching of Our Lord became an obvious fact and one for the whole world to see, thanks to the internet and the work of some Catholic journalists who were not indifferent to what was happening to the Catholic faith, which they consider to be the treasure of Christ.

Ed Pentin, a well-seasoned Catholic journalist, actually wrote at length about the attempts by certain prelates to manipulate the Extraordinary Synod in his book, The Rigging of a Vatican Synod: An Investigation into Alleged Manipulation at the Extraordinary Synod on the Family. This manipulation was meant to open up Holy Communion to Catholics living in an objective state of mortal sin. It’s this agenda that Bp. Schneider thanked Catholic journalists for helping to thwart.

The bishop said the evil agenda pushed by bad prelates at the 2014 synod reflected what he called the “corrupt and pagan mainstream morality of our time.” He further noted that this false morality “is being imposed globally by means of political pressure and through the almost all-powerful official mass media which are loyal to the principles of the world gender ideology party.”

The prelate praised Catholic journalists for getting the word out about this corruption to the laity. “I was pleased to see that some Catholic journalists and internet bloggers behaved as good soldiers of Christ and drew attention to this clerical agenda of undermining the perennial teaching of Our Lord,” said Bp. Schneider.

The laity, once armed with the Truth, was able to engage in the spiritual battle with prayer to save the synod from falling into even greater error. “Thanks be to God and to the prayers of the faithful all over the world that a consistent number of Synod Fathers resolutely rejected such an agenda,” the bishop remarked.
