Dale Vree is the long time editor of the New Oxford Review, which printed a letter from a reader concerned that NOR was “slamming” Pope John Paul II. In an earlier issue of NOR, Vree said of the current Pope, “… an administrator he is not. He simply does not ‘mind the store,’ does not attend to the chores of Church governance.” Is this scandal, or are Catholics too soft on their leaders?
