Catholic Citizens Luncheon on March 9, 2018 will feature Timothy Wittman.  The subject: “Fireproof: Building Churches in Chicago before and after the Chicago Fire.”

Luncheons are at 11:45 a.m. at the Union League Club of Chicago, 65 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago.

Timothy N. Wittman is an architectural historian and historic preservationist who who lives
and works in Chicago, Illinois. He is a graduate of Hiram College in Ohio, and earned the
Master’s in Art History, specializing in architectural history, from the University of Chicago.

He serves as an adjunct professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and at
Lake Forest College. The courses he teaches concentrate on modern architecture and are
offered on the graduate and undergraduate levels.

In his consultancy he has worked for architects, engineers, and for public and private
preservation organizations, and has given expert testimony in defense of significant
historic resources. He has curated several exhibitions and lectures widely in the Midwest
on topics related to modern and American architecture.
