On Friday, July 12, 2024, Catholic Citizens of Illinois’ Forum Luncheon Series Presents: Journalist, YouTuber, and Public Speaker Jeremiah Bannister, on: “One Job’s Journey: How Adversity Leads to Clarity.”

Our beloved Church seems to test our endurance almost daily.  But Jesus expressly taught exactly how the Church He was founding was to deal with the obstinate and the recalcitrant: first through one-on-one confrontation; then with two or three, and then with the church. “And if [the obstinate] will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.” And further, “I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind upon earth, shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose upon earth, shall be loosed also in heaven. Matthew 18:15-19.

Some two thousand years later, the Traditionalists, the Montanists, the Ultra Montanists, the Revivalists and the Sedevacanists, all to one extent or another are laying claim to know the only true and authentic Catholic Church. The result: a siloed cacophony.  But can all, or any of them be correct?

Jeremiah Bannister has been on an excruciating life-long journey of faith.  Much like Job, on this journey Bannister has contended with devastating illnesses and other challenges. Unerringly, however, he will contend that such adversity is exactly what heals and can provide clarity regarding how our Church must heal, which clarity he now seeks to share with those of us on similar journeys

Jeremiah Bannister is a writer, YouTuber, and public speaker. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he earned a degree in Journalism & Mass Communication, with a minor in Political Science, from Olivet College (Michigan), where he was awarded the school’s top-honor in three specialties: creative writing, political science, and public speaking. Since then, he has hosted a local TV show, served as a contributing editor for the Distributist Review, and hosted a live AM/FM talk radio program (PaleoRadio). Jeremiah has presented before audiences at Michigan State University, Ferris State University, and Campellsville University. He currently hosts Paleocrat Diaries LIVE on Meaning of Catholic, which airs every Wednesday and Friday morning at 10 a.m. EST on MoC’s YouTube channel.
